The Daydreamer’s Brunch: The Blythswood, Glasgow

Mondays are always tough, aren’t they? That first working day of the week, waking up to face the beginning of another busy week filled with work and chores. Monday morning, when you remember how much sh*t you left on your desk on Friday, knowing that – now that the weekend is over – you simply can’t avoid it any longer! Monday is a tough day. Lucky for me, this week’s Monday was made much better by the brunch I held at the Blythswood Square hotel in association with Debenhams

Stylists, bloggers and PR consultants descended on the Johnnie Walker lounge, located in one of Glasgow’s favourite hotels, the Blythswood where the AW14 Designers at Debenhams Edition range was presented (think Jonathan Saunders, Preen) and the hotel spa therapists were (literally) on hand to give Ishga arm and hand massages to guests.
We enjoyed catching up over the most scrummy smoked salmon and cream cheese bagels, continental meats and mini muffins and pastries (it’s true – fashion people LOVE food!), discussing the new season trends, Christmas style and the latest goings-on in Scottish fashion (for one, Cruise is holding one of their popular fashion shows this evening).

It was lovely to see all these gorgeous girls over brunch (ON A MONDAY, WOOOO!) and have a proper chat; we see each other at the various events being held across Scotland but it’s difficult to find the time to catch up properly when paying attention to a new product launch or Tweeting madly throughout a designer interview. Monday’s get-together was a couple of hours, just for us. If only every week could start with brunch at the Blythswood

Meanwhile, here’s what I wore…

Thanks to everyone who managed to take time out of their busy schedules to come to brunch, thanks to the Blythswood and spa for having us, and thanks to Debenhams for showing us the gorgeous new collection and sending us home with amazing goody bags filled with Fake Bake, Calvin Klein, Murad and Timeless Candles. Spoiled much?!
