Why I always go back to classic style

There’s nothing better than falling in love with a piece of clothing… the feeling clothes can give you shouldn’t be underestimated! It doesn’t matter what other people think either – if you love it, truly adore it, and you want to wear it then do it! I’ve been experimenting a bit more with my style lately, and it’s great fun, but I also find myself going back to a classic style more often than not, and it’s usually when I’ve tried something on and realise just how wonderful a good cut and fabric can be.

Of course, the great British high street can provide real gems and Hobbs is a go-to brand for timeless fashion for any age, running up to a size 18. I was super excited when Hobbs asked me to pick a festive outfit – of course, I had to channel Martine McCutcheon in Love Actually with the fit and flare coat, indigo jeans and a cosy winter knit. The quality is superb – the coat is a wool mix – and the silhouette makes me feel really special, like Kate Middleton! It would look as good with a fancy dress as it does with the wool/cashmere mix jumper and sculpting jeans. The knit is cute and really keeps me warm (merino wool and cashmere is a great combination for heating a human!) and the jeans are perfect for tucking into boots. I’ll definitely be wearing them over Christmas time because they’re really stretchy and supportive.

If you’re in the market for some new basics that will support your wardrobe for years to come, it’s worthwhile checking out the Hobbs sale – I’ve linked these pieces below and I can confirm each one is worth the price tag.
