Is there anything better than a pair of jeans and simple white tank top? These jeans are from 2017, they were the Topshop Editor and you can still find them on ASOS, though they’re always sold out so I’ve linked to an ASOS search result on the Editor jean at the bottom of this post. The tank is Abercrombie and the quality is so much better than, say, cheaper ones on the high street. There’s just something about the fit and fabric that makes it look and feel better than cheaper ones I’ve had before – I’ll likely buy all my tanks from Abercrombie in future. I also got the black one, and if you sign up to become a member you get discounted prices.
Jeans and a tank is a great summer outfit on its own, but it’s also a solid foundation for elevating your look for difference occasions. Add a blazer and loafers for the office, heels and a crystal handbag for a night out, and then later, when it gets a bit cooler, throw on a great knit and ankle boots to take you into autumn – this works especially well with flared jeans, try a neck-scarf or a felt fedora, or both.
Back to summer because I refuse to think about September in July. If I’m not wearing a summer dress, I always come back to the jeans-and-a-tank-top combo because, like dresses, it doesn’t take much thinking about. Charlotte Jacklin recently posted on her Instagram saying “let’s get dressed, feel good, and get on with our day.” Never a truer word spoken in my opinion! And, with the option to easily change it up with accessories, jumpers and coats, what’s not to love about the simplicity of getting dressed in jeans and a tank top?
