I don’t know about you, but the older I’m getting, the more I find myself thinking about protecting my skin, and in particular, my face! I use SPF based foundation every day to protect against pollution and our harsh environment, but in the summer months I apply an SPF sun lotion before my make up to ensure complete protection.
This summer, I’ve been using the Crème de la Mer UV Protecting Fluid, which has been formulated with the idea that the power of light is beneficial. The Protecting Fluid uses gemstones to enhance anti-oxidant activity; semi-precious tourmaline and Brazilian malachite capture light energy, transforming it into green light, which in turn boosts the Fluid’s powerful anti-oxidants. With the technical science out of the way, I can tell you my thoughts. The Protecting Fluid is an SPF30, and keeps my skin feeling and looking comfortable and hydrated without being greasy. You know how sun lotion can feel too oily? Well, the Protecting Fluid is more like a moisturiser than a sun lotion, so it isn’t doesn’t leave your skin feeling greasy and it means your make up goes on (and stays on!) nicely. Crème de la Mer’s Protection Fluid contains Smart Seaweed Ferment, which attracts moisture to the skin to create a protective barrier that helps to prevent dehydrations. So, while the Protection Fluid is primarily an SPF protecting cream, its creamy, silky texture means it also acts as a good primer for your make up. It’s great in super hot climates as well as in milder climates (but where your skin is still susceptible to damage), so it’s fab for your holidays or for every day use.
