Fake Bake Beauty: Blurfection Smooth & Illuminate Primer

I regularly use Fake Bake products but I actually didn’t realise that my favourite fake tan range also has a beauty line; Beauty At Home. In the collection you’ll find the classic tanning products, but there’s so much more to just tanning with the Fake Bake Beauty At Home range – as well as fake tan, you can find skincare, bath and body, and make up.

Among some other products, this primer was sent to me by Beauty Editor and make up artist, Craig Wilson (you can follow him on Twitter @CraigBeautyBoy) and I’ve been using it for the past couple of weeks. The first thing I noticed about Blurfection Smooth and Illuminate Primer was the colour; I’m used to primers being a creamy or cloudy consistency to allow the make up to control the tone of skin. The pink tint does add a touch of colour which is great if you have a dull complexion, but otherwise I don’t think it’s necessary (unless you’re not wearing anything else on the skin). That said, the product does a great job of preparing the skin for the application of foundation; it almost acts as a filler for fine lines, resulting in smooth, longer-lasting foundation. My make up seems easier to apply and stays put for more hours than on the days that I don’t use the primer (usually because I’ve over slept!). One pump is more than enough to cover the entire face, and it has a bit of a shimmer to illuminate; and we all know that strobing is the new conturing, so any highlighting products are good with me!

Overall, I’d say this is a good product for anyone who is concerned about fine lines or for those who want to achieve a flawless finish, all day long.

Fake Bake Beauty At Home Blurfection Smooth and Illuminate Primer is priced at £18 for 30ml.
