Right now, I’m not feeling my best physically. As someone who has always struggled with their weight, I have to eat well and exercise regularly to maintain a body that I’m okay with. Not happy with, but okay with. I mean, there’s more to life than spending three hours in the gym every night (and now I don’t have the time anyway), and I like chocolate so I don’t see the point in depriving myself, but I know that I feel really blue when I’m overweight, or if my clothes aren’t comfortable. So I do my best to maintain my weight and size without feeling like it’s a chore.
Right now though, I still have a stone of weight to lose to get back to my pre baby weight. I lost around a stone when the baby was born, and I’ve since lost another ten pounds, but I have another 14lbs to go. It feels manageable but I’m impatient – I want it off now! I know it will take a bit longer until it’s all off (it’s only been four months after all), so meantime I’ve decided to embrace my ‘new mum’ figure. And that means a new dress, of course.
Winser London is a brand I’ve liked for a long time (here’s a post on the super comfy striped t-shirt dress) because the clothes are flattering, stylish and incredibly well made. I find them easy to wear and yet I feel properly dressed, if you know what I mean?
I chose the miracle dress because, well, I feel like I need a miracle! The dress is made of a stretchy, forgiving fabric and has a strategic pleating detail across the stomach area. The dropped shoulder is a nice modern touch. I actually have the miracle dress in red (see it here) so it was a natural choice for me to add to my wardrobe.
The beauty of the miracle dress is that you can buy your regular size, even if you’ve gained (or lost) a bit of weight – it moulds to the body. So, even if you’re not feeling quite your best, it will make you feel better thanks to its ability to let you wear something in your wardrobe that works for you no matter what your body is doing. And that, daydreamers, is good for the mind because – let’s face it – we all hate to see our dress size changing on our labels. Winser’s miracle dress means you can wear the same dress whether you’ve gained a few pounds or not, and still feel good when you put it on.
And can we just take a moment to appreciate this colour? It’s enough to lift anyone’s mood, anytime.
