Summer Dressing

When it’s been unexpectedly warm outside but you’re still self conscious post baby, the extra pounds still visible… and time disappears by way of feeding and sterilising and walking the dog and feeding and sterilising and – well, you get the picture. And yet, you’re feeling yourself again and so you want to wear something other than activewear but you’re not quite comfortably into pre-baby clothes yet. That’s when it’s time for an easy-to-wear, easy-to-care-for dress that ticks the bohemian and summery boxes but also makes you feel like you actually got dressed in the morning.

This peasant-style dress is from M&Co, a shop that sometimes slips off the radar but, if you take the time to drop in, one that offers a lot of good quality basics at decent prices. The summer collection is really on-trend this season; think Bardot necklines, tassels, embroidery and frills. But everything is wearable, not like the clothes those girls who advertise miracle skinny teas on Instagram wear… M&Co’s collection seems to be designed with all body shapes in mind, with trendy accents to update your wardrobe. I saw this dress and I knew it would be a great one for wearing now on warm summer days, but it will also pack really easily if a summer escape should come my way… it’s soft and comfy but well made, so I don’t feel aware of my wobbly bits. And yet I feel like I’m wearing something that fits with this season’s mood… teamed with a straw hat, sunglasses and sliders, it’s the easiest way to step into summer early.

I’m Wearing: dress, M&Co; sunglasses (prescription), IOLLA; hat, Madhatter Book Shop, Burford; shoes, Boden; bag, Marrakech souks.

Oh my goodness, such a gorgeous dress Christina! Love how it sits on you and the way you have styled… I’m obsessed with smart pieces right now that complement our favourite body parts whilst hiding the others we’re a bit self-conscious about. Not that you need to worry about anything as you’re perfect, but I get how a simple dress that “helps” you can make you feel so much more relaxed all day whilst looking good!

Taty, all women are the same – we always want to look and feel our best. I bet even Cindy Crawford feels like this… maybe not but you know what I mean! You’re looking ace in your polka dots lately… but then you always look great. Xx
