I’ve been lucky enough to enjoy a bit of travelling recently and my luck continues with a trip to France next week! Which has got me thinking about my capsule wardrobe for a springtime mini break, so I thought I’d do a wee blog post about it!
It’s all about choosing separates that work together to create different outfit options and as simple as this might sound, it can actually be quite difficult to find pieces that do this for both day or evening, for any occasion. For me, dresses and ankle-grazing trousers work best with flats for day and one pair of heels for evening.
Here are my top picks from the high street for a chic French getaway.

Next, £14
A great blazer worn with a simple white t shirt and blue jeans looks casually chic for travelling. Layer with an oversize scarf and wear with tan moccasins.
Lovarni, £69
A Breton stripe always goes down well in France, and this comfy dress will be great for exploring the surrounding area or throwing over your bikini by the pool. Another option is to wear this with your jeans – just tie it up in a casual knot round the waist and – ta-da! – you have a t shirt.

A printed dress is always good for day to evening activities. Wear with flats for a day time picnic and simply slip a pair of wedges on for dinner and drinks later.

White capri pants look gorgeous for a stroll by the marina before stopping for lattes or lunch. Wear with the blazer, white t shirt and flats, or team with this red camisole and heels for evening.

Worn with your white capri pants, this cami works brilliantly for cocktails in the evening, and will look equally as good with your jeans for day time activities. Or, throw it over your print dress for a relaxed top and skirt combo.
