Ted Baker has released a seasonal edition of his signature fragrance, Woman, based around his SS11 collection. The limited edition fragrance has been given a make-over; the label has been dressed in key prints from Baker’s summer collection. The print itself is lovely, with sketched birdcages and colourful birds against a white background. The fragrance is coloured rather a bright, mint green, reminiscent of mint-choc chip ice cream (would work perfectly with Leighton Denny’s Gelato collection!) and really does evoke summer treats and capture the essence of summertime. Ice cream vans, barbecues, Pimms and freshly squeezed lemonade, warm afternoons and eating a fresh fruit breakfast on the balcony all spring to mind when spritzing Woman. The entire image of the fragrance just works so well for this time of year.
The fragrance itself is rich, with notes of ylang, cedarwood, basil, rose and musk, but the infusion of lighter notes of bergamot and lily of the valley means Woman is light and wearable but has a sultry undertone for hot summer nights. I do like the limited edition version of Woman, however, I do feel it is aesthetically aimed at a young market and that the fragrance reflects that – it’s quite sweet despite the cedarwood and musk. As always with perfume, there is a matter of taste simply because of the personal nature of finding your signature scent.
I would certainly recommend trying this gorgeous limited edition Woman – it might just suit your summer personality. You could say the limited edition Woman is the summer sister to the original Woman fragrance.
