Dune x Joanne Stoker

Talking of Dune, the high street giant has just announced a collaboration with up-and-coming shoe designer, Joanne Stoker. Stoker is a Footwear Design graduate of the prestigious Cordwainers College who has won many awards, including an international competition hosted in Italy and Footwear Friends Award sponsored by the British Footwear Association. Before establishing her own label in 2011, Stoker completed a mentorship with luxury accessories brand, Jimmy Choo as well as working with the hugely successful Matthew Williamson on his SS13 show.

High street collaborations are the seal of the fashion world approval for some designers – think Topshop x Christopher Kane, H&M x Lanvin, GAP x Pierre Hardy – and Stoker’s collection for Dune is sure to be a sell out. The collection is made up of beautiful soft suedes in neutral tones and candy colours, punctuated with pops of neon, glitter piping and Art Deco inspired detailing. Dune is a brand that is proud to support new designers (they have collaborated with Olivia Ruben and Kat Maconie in the past) and Stoker is delighted with the results of the collection. She says, “I’ve really enjoyed working with Dune on the collaboration; I felt we were all on the same wave length in terms of design direction. I was given as much freedom as I needed to design and put the range together and I’m so happy with the final designs. I’m really excited to see it all come together.”

The collection is made up of six shoe designs and two bags, with prices ranging from a reasonable £70. A small price to pay for a bit of shoe history.
 Joanne Stoker for Dune, £135.
The collection will be available from the end of February.
