August in the Miller household can only mean one thing – a trip to Oxford to see the family. This year, our ten days of Prosecco and cake fuelled birthday celebrations have been broken up with dinner by the river, multiple puppy walks in the countryside and, of course, an annual trip to Bicester Village.
This year saw a trend emerge (they say if you see it three times, it’s a trend); for the third year in a row, I bought a handbag at Bicester. First, it was a chocolate Mulberry tote. Second came the black DKNY hobo. This year? A black quilted Lulu Guinness shoulder bag. All three have been investment purchases, varying in price but not in quality – my Mulberry Bayswater is as beautiful now as it was the day I bought it, while my DKNY hobo is easily slung over my shoulder and holds all my rubbish, without weighing me (or my handbag fashion cred) down. My new Lulu Guinness is one of those great bags that will take me from the office to lunch to cocktails, whether I’m (ahem) 31 or 71. All I can say is, I wonder which bag Bicester Village will bring me next year?
It will go very nicely with your “surprise” !!!
That is NICE! It’s impossible to go Bicester village without finding a handbag you absolutely adore.
Great choice!
