Harper’s Bazaar Pop Up at Bicester Village

I know – it’s been forever since I last blogged! Well, just a few weeks but in the blogosphere, a few weeks is forever. So, The Daydreamer is back – with a goody – and will be blogging regularly again, with beauty reviews, outfit posts and stylish pieces I’m coveting. To start, I’m blogging about the new pop up shop at the UK’s hottest designer outlet shopping destination, Bicester Village.
One of my most favourite magazines (probably my favourite, if you forced me to choose just one) launched a pop up gift shop at one of my most favourite shopping destinations last week – Harper’s Bazaar at Bicester Village. This news was exciting to me for a few reasons.
Firstly, I have a real fondness for Harper’s Bazaar; I can still remember the days when it was Harper’s & Queen, a magazine that was my first port of call for all things stylish, despite there being other, more obvious publications being available for a young woman discovering her love of high fashion. Secondly, I did my work experience was at Harper’s Bazaar way back in 2007 when I was 25 – I was positively old in comparison to the other work experience girls, but I loved every minute and I recall the team as being rather friendly for fashionistas (perhaps made more obvious after a rather frosty reception from the team at another national glossy the year before). Thirdly, as regular readers of this blog will know, I adore Bicester Village! It’s the UK’s (and Europe’s) go-to destination for designer shopping at great prices and the village itself is a pretty place in which you can lose hours, whether through enjoying pastries and coffees at one of the divine coffee shops or simply by having been hypnotised by the vast array of colour found in DvF and Matthew Williamson.
So, upon discovering that Harper’s Bazaar was taking up residence in the temporary shop at Bicester Village (the last brand to occupy the shop was Zatchels), I knew I had to attend the launch, which was open to the public as well as press and bloggers. This is another reason I love Bazaar and Bicester Village – no stuffiness! Both teams appeared genuinely delighted that there was such a great turnout of both shoppers, fans and press and they were super excited to chat to everyone about the new shop.
Talking of which, the Harper’s Bazaar pop-up shop is elegantly furnished in simple whites, letting the expertly chosen stock do the talking (think Wilbur & Gussie, Leathersmith of London, Miller Harris) and the outer is a stylish shade of aubergine. At night, the shop twinkles – perfect for the upcoming festive season, for which the Bazaar pop up is a must-visit as the pieces available to buy make for chic yet considered gifts – and looks gorgeous nestled in the heart of the village. It’s almost sad that the shop is a temporary fixture, but I suppose all good things must come to an end. Luckily for us, we can shop ’til we drop at Bicester Village before reading our favourite glossy magazine over cappuccinos and croissants.
