It might look like spring, but it’s still pretty freaking cold outside. There’s nothing worse than being fooled by your eyes, which (having seen longer days and spring blooms) tell you to wear cropped trousers – only to receive a rude awakening from your body, which feels drafty from the ankle up thanks to stubborn single-figure temperatures.
However, as the new collections trickle into stores, spring style is on our minds and even in our wardrobes. How to trick your body so you can wear spring styles now? Wear one spring piece with your winter warmers; for example, white jeans will work with cosy knits and winter coats in pastel hues. Layer up with pretty thermals and soft cashmere, but throw on a pair of sunglasses to keep the look spring-ready. Then, when the temperature rises, strip off your layers and cry “Hallelujah!” to the fashion gods.
I’m Wearing: coat, Next; jumper, Brora; high waist shaping jeans, J by Jasper Conran at Debenhams; shoes, Dune at TK MAXX; sunglasses, from my hen party; rings, various.
