Met Gala 2013 – Punk: Chaos to Couture

The Met Gala is one of the best fashion spotting events of the year; the Met red carpet is the fashion equivalent to the Oscars and everyone waits with baited breath until the outfits of choice are revealed. This year, the exhibition is Punk: Chaos to Couture and guests were inspired by the title. Here are my favourite looks from the red carpet.
Jennifer Lawrence in Dior Haute Couture

Hilary Rhoda in Wes Gordon

Claire Danes in Oscar de la Renta

Sarah Jessica Parker in custom Giles and Philip Treacy
I particularly like Hilary Rhoda’s dress and trousers combo (a brave step away from a predictable red carpet or “model” dress), while SJP should be given a sartorial medal for her fearless attitude towards fashion – the red carpet was made for her custom Giles dress, thigh high boots and Philip Treacy headwear! I’m so glad that she has the courage and individuality to wear the “fashion” pieces, which, without women like SJP, we would never get to see off the runway. She has such fun with fashion and I love her for it.
Who was your best dressed of the night?
