I think we’re all agreed that – as seems to be the way of it lately – summer 2021 hasn’t quite lived up to expectations so far. The excitement of finally hitting the shops to find hot-girl-summer outfits was swiftly washed away with the rain that poured daily on what is said to be one of the wettest Mays on record.
But it seems we might be in for a taste of summer this bank holiday weekend, with less rain, more sun, and warmer temperatures forecast. There was a glimpse of summer yesterday, and at 5pm on the dot I slipped into this kimono to get some shots for this post.
If you’re on the lookout for some great summer staples, the Giant Willow Kimono by One Hundred Stars is definitely in my top five recommendations. It’s effortlessly chic, making a great cover-up which creates a real sense of easy elegance when flung over swimwear or a bodysuit, and it’s also a bit of a showstopper when worn with a simple pair of denim jeans or shorts. Perhaps most importantly, if the weather continues to disappoint you’ll look – and feel – a million dollars wearing this while watching the rain fall, from the comfort of home. Just add a good book and a glass of chilled wine and, who knows, you might even feel like you’re on holiday.
