Pardy Lollipop.
Was the only reason you set up Candy Kittens so that you could hire some hot totty, or do you take it seriously from a business point of view?
As much as I am a happy-go-lucky type of guy, I do take business unbelievably seriously. I think it’s very easy for people from privileged backgrounds to take life easy and not do anything and live off your parents. I’m really against that and think that you should do your own thing.
I did want to hang out with hot girls! That’s one of the reasons I did it, but if you want to become rich don’t make someone else rich, make yourself rich. I knew I had to do something I love, and thought, well, what do I love? I love girls and I love sweets, so I put them together and came up with this business.
Will the range be stocked only in Harvey Nichols?
Just in Harvey Nichols. It’s a great brand to be associated with. We are trying to change the whole conception of confectionary, make it a real cool, high-end brand.
What does it take to be a Candy Kitten?
All it takes is to make me laugh. If you can make me laugh, then you’ve got the job.
What flavour of ice cream would you be, and why?
I would probably be raspberry ripple because it’s colourful and I’m normal but I have a little cheekiness!
How much of Made in Chelsea is real and how much is staged?
Honestly, on a real level, it is real. We’re all friends; we’ve known each other since we were 13 years old. When I first met Spencer I used to hate him, I thought he was the biggest d*ck in the world, but we’ve known each other since we were 13 and that’s why it’s real. It’s all real but they direct you, they guide you a little bit.
In the show (Made in Chelsea), you’re a bit of a ladies man. If you could pick one woman in the world, who would you choose and why?
I would pick Mila Kunis or supermodel Barbara Palvin, because they are super sexy, they dress really well and I think they seem cool and fun. Again, if a girl makes me laugh and I think they’re cute, then my heart melts.
Who is your idea woman?
A mixture between Kate Hudson, Pixie Lott, Mila Kunis and Barbara Palvin. I’m not asking a lot!
Who would you rather snog – the Queen (because you’re posh) or Michelle Obama?
Michelle Obama. She has good dress sense.
Kate Middleton or Kate Moss?
Kate Moss.
Really, because you seem to go for brunettes in the show?
I do, but I don’t really have a type. I will get with anyone!
What does the future hold for you? Will you continue with Made in Chelsea or focus on Candy Kittens?
Hopefully I’m going to focus on both. My dream is to become a presenter, that’s the reason why I did Made in Chelsea. They asked me to go on the first season and I said I didn’t want to do it – they pitched and said they wanted to follow round posh kids and I thought that was just horrendous!
We love it!
I thought at the time it sounded horrendous but then I saw how popular it was and I was like, well I wanna do it now! They asked me again for the second series and I thinking about it, I spoke to my friend’s mum who works for Sky about presenting and she said, “Jamie you’re too posh, people can’t relate to you.” If you see some guy who is posh, immediately people just take a dislike to you. You [have to] have some sort of profile and get your foot in the door. Hopefully, in ten years’ time I’ll have my own show. That’s the dream.
