I love packing. I know, it’s a bit weird, isn’t it? Most people seem to find it a chore, but packing for a trip is one of my favourite things about going away. Maybe it’s the former PA in me – the planning of the outfits into a capsule wardrobe ahead of time to make life as easy as it can be once I’m there.
However, this holiday is the first week-long overseas trip during which I wouldn’t have access to a washing machine – and I most definitely over packed in my panic about what to take.
Despite having a different outfit for every day, it’s funny how you go back to your favourites isn’t it? I love the pretty print of this dress, and it’s a full wrap style so it was great for loosening as the week went on – we were all inclusive, so my waistline definitely expanded by the end of the week! Teamed with these sandals from Air and Grace, it was the perfect outfit to wear by the pool and then to lunch at the restaurant.
What I love about this outfit is that it’s one I’d wear at home too, which means my wardrobe is working harder for me. I like to choose pieces that will work for more than one occasion these days, so I have fewer pieces but plenty of options. This dress would be great for the office with a blazer, or a weekend lunch with wedges, and the sandals look great with pretty much anything. I wore them on holiday with wide leg trousers and a tank top, and I’ll wear them with cropped jeans and a chunky knit this spring.
The leather is super soft and they’re really cushioned, it’s like my feet are sliding into a warm hug. They’re super comfy which I often find isn’t the case with trendy sandals, and I love that a few women reached out to me on Instagram to say they have them in different colours and wear them all the time because they’re so comfortable. Air and Grace are known for their excellent craftsmanship and quality, and these sandals are probably one of my favourite styles – this colour is new this season, and the gold hardware matches my jewellery and handbag details perfectly.
The final touch – a mini straw bag, another day-to-night piece that fits my phone, make up, cards and sunglasses. Let me know what your go-to holiday outfit is, and if you have pieces in your wardrobe you know will work for any occasion?
