Bubbles & Brunch

Last weekend I was invited by the brains (and beauty) behind lifestyle blog Secret Little Stars, Tatyana, to join her for Bubbles and Brunch at Hutchesons Glasgow. I’d been once before, with Tatyana and Lucy, and was instantly taken by the old fashioned glamour of the building; think Downton Abbey meets Boardwalk Empire.

Our brunch was upstairs, in the Brasserie, and – although it’s a really easy going place – I felt distinctly unglamorous in my Saturday afternoon uniform of jumper, jeans and OTK boots. Hutchesons is worthy of a palazzo pant or a full midi skirt; its beauty is understated but you can’t help but think of another era, when people made an effort to dress well every day, regardless of occasion. The elegance that oozes from Hutchesons is enough to make you reconsider your entire wardrobe.

The champagne brunch was gorgeous and the food was excellent. It’s a fabulous deal; £40 for two to enjoy a bottle of Prosecco, fresh orange juice, pastries and a main course from the brunch menu. Twenty quid each for a two course brunch with bubbles? You couldn’t ask for a better treat with your girlfriends, in one of the most gorgeous restaurants I’ve had the pleasure of visiting. Thank you Tatyana for inviting me, and Hutchesons Glasgow for having me.
